The suit au japonais is to die for, Frank. It's so good to see you work again.

What stunning suits! Mr. Tignino, I just googled your name (and obviously found you) because I was thinking back on my studies at Parsons, and I remembered a field trip we took in Stan Levine's class to your studio. I was the oldest student in the group; not motivated by the pursuit of a degree or grades, but strictly by my own passion and curiosity. I remember leaning over your cutting table as you showed us the "guts" of a skirt waistband, and I was asking you a million questions. You were endlessly patient and answered them all, thoroughly -- except one. I'd managed to drill down so far in my questioning that I asked you, "Well, what exactly do you wrap the elastic in?" You laughed and said, "I can't tell you that, now you're asking me for my trade secrets!" Until then I hadn't realized how intently I'd been leaning over the table and how much I'd been dominating the conversation -- and I was just a LITTLE embarrassed. That was such a wonderful visit and I'm still appreciating it all these years later. Thank you!
